We collect the following personal data when you use QuoteCraft AI:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed)
• Business details: Business name, phone number, and email you choose to add
• Customer details: Names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails you enter for quotes
• Quote data: Job descriptions, line items, pricing, and notes
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and timestamps
• Device data: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the QuoteCraft AI service
• Generate quotes using AI (sent to Google Gemini API for processing)
• Look up material prices from UK retailers
• Send you service-related emails (account confirmation, quote delivery)
• Analyse usage patterns to improve the product

4. AI Processing

When you generate a quote, your job description and relevant details are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not send your personal contact details or customer personal information to the AI model — only job descriptions and technical specifications.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Neon (PostgreSQL) servers in the EU (AWS eu-west-2, London). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Google (Gemini API): Job descriptions for quote generation
• Neon: Database hosting provider
• Vercel: Application hosting provider

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict processing of your data
• Data portability (receive your data in a portable format)
• Object to processing
